Weinstein, O'Neil and Minervini, momentum proponents all, put great emphasis on relative strength. Although we can screen on these it would be great if we could also add them to the charts.

RS charts may be pretty simplistic but, I was brought up on the excellent William O'Neil charts in the USA which were based on RS and they worked pretty well.

Its fairly basic but a fundamental concept. One divided by the other - expressed as a line on a chart. This shows if a share has been out performing or under performing and when that has occured and for how long, etc.

Relative Charts - e.g. for the uk mkt the ability to look at stocks relative to the all share index as a single line with mov averages and rsi indicators.... so u can look for the relative mkt strength rather than absolute.
